Part- time 24+ hours per week

The Wellness Program Driver provides safe and reliable transportation services to Mental Health and Wellness program members. These services are provided through the Wellness department to include pick-up and drop-off from weekly programs. The Wellness Program Driver may be responsible to provide assistance to individuals with various needs as well as respond to requests for assistance and direction from the Wellness Manager.

DUTIES:

  1. Transport program members as assigned to program locations in a timely manner,
  2. Ensure the safety and comfort of clients during transport by maintaining fleet vehicles in safe and sanitary conditions and driving safely and cautiously according to road conditions, adhering to traffic laws at all times,
  3. Assist clients into and out of vehicles as required,
  4. Maintain transportation records as directed by the Wellness Manager and according to program guidelines,
  5. Ensure that confidentiality as per program policy is maintained,
  6. Report issues and needs related to maintenance, repair and replacement of the program fleet of vehicles and any other issues to the program manager,
  7. Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license, and willingness to obtain class 4,
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 50lbs.,
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for safely transporting people by passenger vehicle in adherence with the Manitoba Traffic Act,
  • Knowledge of customer service principles,
  • Knowledge of principles and methods of safety assisting in the movement of clients with mobility issues, which may include persons using walking aids (crutches, canes, walkers, etc) or wheelchair
  • First Aid / CPR,
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends if required.,
  • Preference will be given to First Nations candidates with priority going to members of Sagkeeng First Nation.
  • Must own their own vehicle and have a clean Drivers abstract
